Did you know that hazelnuts are packed with vitamins, B1, B2, B6 and vitamin E? They also contain folic acid and they are super delicious alone, mixed with chocolate(just ask ) and of course as nut mylk. Let’s talk about separation...Don’t throw it out! It’s completely NORMAL in homemade nut mylks. Nuts have healthy fats in them and when that fat joins with water they don’t mix, therefore, causing separation. Store bought milks have emulsifiers. Emulsifiers join the water and the fats from the nuts which causes the separation to slow down drastically, and extends the shelf life. The average shelf life for homemade nut mylk is 3-7 days, where as store bought mylk can last for months. However! Research has shown emulsifiers have harmful effects on the human body such as inflammation, the development of obesity, type-2 diabetes, cardiovascular and liver disease, and inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Not to mention homemade mylks just taste soooo much better 😋. So, do you want to know the solution to separation without the use of emulsifiers? Just a good ol shake and voila!
