As most of you know, we work primarily with feral ponies. While Tinker Bell has made wonderful progress with us, we don’t feel this is the best environment for her to continue thriving.
When she first arrived, she was extremely difficult to handle. Since then, she has come a long way. Every morning she’s the first one to meet me at feeding time, she’s easy to lead, she’s had her feet done, has been dewormed, successfully treated for a respiratory infection, and has a current Coggins.
Because of her visual impairment, she tends to rely heavily on the other ponies and often mirrors their behavior. In a herd of feral ponies, that has made it harder for her to continue building confidence and independence.
We truly believe Tinker Bell would flourish as a companion pony with a kind, well-mannered equine friend. Having a calm, gentle role model could help her gain confidence and continue making progress. Our ponies are kept on a dry lot so we can closely monitor their feed, as many arrive underweight, but we believe Tinker Bell would be happiest and do best in a pasture setting.
Finding the right home is far more important to us than finding a quick one. If you think Tinker Bell might be a good fit for your family or know someone who could give her the loving home she deserves, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’d love to tell you more about her.
