Taking advantage of this rain delay in our first cutting of grass to make some much-needed adjustments to our harvesting equipment. This machine, called a chopper, picks up mowed grass and chops it into small pieces for packing into our bunker silos to store for our cows for the winter.

Making sure the knives are sharp and well-adjusted saves fuel, reduces stress on other parts of the machine, and ensures a clean, consistent cut for better fermentation, ultimately meaning better feed for our cows this winter!

Hoping to be back in the field soon!
