Fluted pumpkin (Telfairia Occidentalis) is an indigenous vegetable consumed by millions of west Africans. It is widely distributed among the Igbo people in the south eastern part of Nigeria. Ugu is the most common name of this vegetable in Nigeria. The vegetable is used in a lot of soups in Nigeria and other west African countries. The leaves are harvested and sold fresh in west Africa. VEGETABLE LEAVES is not readily available in the United States Of America. Authentic indigenous soups can only be cooked with authentic ingredients. Our goal is to make the fresh ugu leaves available to people interested in enjoying the authentic taste of home cooking.
