More fertilizer isn't always better.

One advantage of Tahoma 31 is its ability to perform with less nitrogen than many other Bermudagrasses. Depending on soil conditions, established Tahoma 31 may need only 50–75% of the nitrogen commonly applied to Bermudagrass.

During establishment, the recommended starting point is approximately 1 pound of nitrogen per 1,000 square feet.

From there, soil conditions and your turf's needs should guide your fertilizer program.

Tahoma 31 performs well at heights ranging from approximately 0.125 inch to 2 inches, giving you flexibility depending on how you use your turf and the look you want to achieve.

Planning a new lawn? Before you order sod, you need to know how much ground you’re covering.

For a simple rectangular area, the math is easy:

Length × Width = Square Feet

For example, a yard that measures 50 feet × 40 feet has 2,000 square feet of area.

Have an irregular-shaped lawn? Break it into smaller rectangles, calculate each section separately, then add them together.

It’s also a good idea to order a little extra to account for cuts, curves, odd-shaped spaces and installation waste.

How often should I water my new sod?

One of the most common questions we get is about watering—and it's also one of the most important parts of establishing a healthy lawn.

For the first 10–14 days after installation, keep your new sod consistently moist. This usually means watering one to three times per day, depending on temperatures, wind, and rainfall. The goal is to keep both the sod and the top layer of soil from drying out.

As the roots begin to establish, transition to fewer, deeper waterings to encourage strong root growth. Once your sod is fully rooted, you can switch to a normal watering schedule based on your local weather and your lawn's needs.

Proper watering during the first few weeks is the key to a healthy, beautiful lawn that will thrive for years to come.
