Let’s introduce another one of our friends.

This is Marco. He likes the “birdies” too. He knows the “birdies” are our friends. Why didn’t I call them chicks? Marco has a dislike for chipmunks, to which we call “chippies” and is too close to chicks for my training purposes. He also chases away squirrels, foxes, rabbits, turkeys, and deer, which is good for all.

Marco is an extremely smart and protective Australian shepherd mix we rescued as a puppy at 4 months. He trains everyday and just celebrated his 3rd birthday a couple months ago.

He loves to hike, doesn’t care for walks in the city, at least very far, loves to lay in the sun. Loves to snuggle, not a fan of strangers. And identifies as a lapdog but weights 90+ lbs.. 😂

The baby chicks are so fun to watch. A lady bug was on the edge of the brooding box so I flicked it into the box. It took about 2 seconds until our RI Red “Rose” noticed and grabbed it in her beak and then immediately started chirping and sprinting around the box in celebration, proud of her first kill. The other babies noticed too, “Pepper” & “Rocky” joined in, running around chirping in excitement while attempting to steel the special treat.
