Quite a bit overdue, but thanks to Evelyn’s help yesterday, we were able to get a good start on pressure washing our fences! We have long road ahead of us in finishing this project! Next step, repainting wooden posts!

Absolutely! 👏 Learning that hard work pays off is best learned from a young age. Having a clear goal helps them stay motivated and determined. This determination easily carries over into adulthood with continual effort and will get your child far with many jobs.

I got asked multiple times this week, “Are the horses prepared for the heat this week?” or “What can I do to help my horse in the heat?” Here are just a few things we do here at Cornerstone Farm to make our horses as comfortable and healthy as possible.

💦Water 💦
Fresh water tanks, filled often are an absolute MUST every single day of the year! This is hands down the most important key to having healthy horses-no matter the weather!

💪Limit Exercise 💪
We use the “Rule of 150”.
Humidty + Temperature >150 = skip the ride
For days like that, we opt for in hand walking or spa days consisting of baths, brushing or massages!

🧂Electrolytes & Salt 🧂
Salt blocks and loose trace mineral salt are provided in each paddock. This will encourage horses to stay hydrated, as well as supply them with key nutrients!

🎀Manes Braided 🎀
Although some braids will fall out, manes are braided to keep the hair off their neck to stay cool.

🫧Baths 🫧
When time allows, horses are rinsed off or bathed to help cool their body temps.

🌙Night Grazing 🌙
The horses are grazed at night and brought off the pasture during the hottest parts of the day to encourage them to stand under their sheds in the shade.
