Hoyt Farms

Hoyt Farms On our farm, we raise ADGA registered purebred Nubian and purebred and American Saanen dairy goats. We test regularly for CAE and maintain a CAE-free herd.

Although we only make a few shows a year, we strive to raise healthy, friendly dairy goats that milk heavily but can also do well in the show ring. Our last test was done by SEK Genetics in January of 2021 with all dairy does on the farm testing negative. Although we have not tested for CL or Johnnes, we have never had any indication of these problems in any goat on the farm. We have been members

of the Voluntary Scrapie Eradication program in Arkansas since it's beginning and have scrapie tags avaliable.

Note to self, when you have a yearling who has not gotten the no kicking memo, and you decide enough. And you tie her feet to the milk stand. ALWAYS untie those feet before you release her head! As she drug the milk stand around In a panic, I thought she would break her legs and mine. But we all survived and she gave a decent amount of milk. Wonder what tomorrow will bring?

Kidding season is over!!! Started Dec 8 and finished 5-3. The last four kids were bucks so we had 12 bucks and 9 does. More does than in the past!

We also met Caroline Lawson in Little Rock and brought home a new TLC-Farms buckling. Red belted kid near the gate. TLC had some lovely Nubians at the quad show including several grand and reserve champions and BDIS! Welcome TLC-Farms BMB Kimichi. We love our TLC bucks.

Well, poor Touch Me Not had a rough labor. Two heads at once. Sadly, her little doe kid didn’t make it but she has a colorful buckling that she adores. She is very sore but was incredibly good about her first milking, and has a really nice fore udder. Wish it was clipped! As her name implies, she was not always friendly!
