We had a really good time in Lansing, KS last weekend. Got one call for chicken (9th), 13th in ribs, 29th pork and 30th brisket. Overall was 24th. We did learn a lot from the team next to us (who came in in the top 5 overall). We will try out new methods at next comp. I would also like to welcome Jacob and Jennifer Voorhies (plus kidos) to the team.

We had fun time at the Cookin' on the Kaw. We were joined by Betty, Gaylyn, Marilyn, Lorrie, Jacob and family. I am really surprised we didn't need bail money.

Talking a little WSOP today. Our good fried and supporter Ernie Cockrum is competing in the Main Event WSOP Event and is past day 2. He starts day three on Fri. Please wish him well.

We had a blast at Marysville last weekend. Can't say mother-nature helped any. But all teams had to suffer. We came in 24th. Brisket got done to soon and turned out dry, with the best flavor we have ever had. Butts stalled and got us a last place with two comment cards, telling us how rubbery it was. We will go back to the drawing board and try again.

Sitting here in Marysville KS watching the smoker and wondering if I'm going to get blown away. At least the rain stopped.

Enjoyed our time at Lansing KS. Good friends and family showed up to celebrate Tim's 50th. We tried a few things different that didn't go so well. 25th of 33 over all. Brisket was 33rd, we now have another way of never cooking brisket again. Special thanks to Lorrie, Marilyn, Les, Brad and Deanna for all their help.

DeSoto, KS 2014,
We had a blast this weekend. The only weather we didn't see, was ice and snow. Looks like cooking class may have paid off. Love hearing Rock-N-Roll Rib Rubbers called to the stage. Looking forward to next year.
