What have I been up to these past couple of quiet weekends?

Oh, nothing major… just casually turning my kitchen into a carbohydrate crime scene with approximately 12 bags of flour and a deeply questionable number of mixing bowls.

The current obsession: pizza crust. Not wood‑fired. Not artisan. Not symmetrical in any universe.
We’re talking rustic, in the ā€œdon’t ask me why it’s shaped like the state of Nebraska, Florida or Alaskaā€ kind of way.

But flavor? Flavor is getting real.

So now I need to know — should pizza make its debut on the May Hoobler Hearth menu, or should I keep wrestling this dough into something that resembles a circle first?

🐰 Special Easter Treat! This week only: Bunny‑shaped original loaves! Cute, festive, and guaranteed to make your Easter table hop with happiness.

Doughlene and I are gearing up for a busy week, and I’m pretty excited about this lineup. Fresh sourdough, a few sweet things, and plenty of reasons to grab fresh eggs and bread in one stop.

Small batches as always… so come Saturday, when it’s gone, it’s gone.

This summer Hoobler Hearth is teaming up with Limber’s Cattle Co to bring fresh, naturally-leavened sourdough to their very popular egg stand.

Flour, water, salt, time… and a little help from Doughlene.

On select weekends you’ll be able to grab farm-fresh eggs and a slow-risen loaf in one stop — which feels like a pretty solid way to start the day.

Dates are below, and menus will be posted the week of each visit.
