Marquette grapes a couple of weeks ago. The vines did well this year, some put on grapes (though I did not pick for wine) but were rather small due to the dry summer (no irrigation system yet).

Next year looks like it will be good!

Look what I found today in my two year old Marquette vines. I must have missed pinching the cluster off in the spring.
This is a great sign given the cold, wet not-too-sunny summer we have had. And it is not even early Sept when I would expect ripe grapes.
Next year, assuming a decent winter, the grapes will be allowed to develop.

Two year old Marquette vines up on the trellises. They came out of our tough winter surprisingly well. Next year I will let them develop fruit. And a few other pics. Hope the grapes grow as strong as my Clematis vines!

This is the front yard. That is NOT a buried beer keg but an antique oil barrel turned birdbath that is slowly disappearing.
