Greenview Farms

Greenview Farms Greenview Farms is a corn and soybean farm in eastern Iowa. It was started in 1976 by Kevin and Lori Green. We are in a corn/soybean rotation. We G.P.S.

Greenview Farms currently consists of 11,955 cash rented acres and 1,526 custom farmed acres. Approximately 50% of our acres are corn and 50% are soybeans. Our farm consists of two profit centers: corn and soybeans. The custom farming is also corn and soybeans, which allows us to lower our per acre equipment cost. We currently farm land in the Iowa counties of Clinton, Cedar, Jackson, Jones, Linn,

Muscatine and Scott. We rent land from 70 owners. The business is a family owned general partnership. Kevin and Lori have included their adult children Katie and Adam, and Kevin's brother Keith in the partnership. Kevin handles strategic planning, financial management, and marketing. Keith oversees agriculture technology and the custom seed production. Mike Flammang is our shop foreman and machinery specialist. Duane Gannon is a key employee that assists in various field operations including planting and harvesting. Amanda Willimack manages the office operations, human resources, and communications. Additional seasonal help is hired as needed. We have an office in DeWitt and a farm shop headquarters located west of Grand Mound. Everyone helps in the fields during planting and harvesting seasons. Our farm utilizes the latest technology in production agriculture. We operate a complete line of modern large machinery. This includes a 36-row corn planter and two 24-row split row planters and three combines with 12-row corn heads and 40-foot soybean draper heads. All of our tractors and combines use R.T.K. auto-steer and record their activities including seed variety, planting population, and harvested yield on a real-time site specific map. grid test all of our fields, and we variable-rate apply fertilizer, lime and seed. We utilize the John Deere operations website to assist in managing our fields and equipment from an iPad on the go or a computer in the office. Our farm remains a leader in production agriculture. In 1996 our farm was named the Best Managed Farm in the United States by Farm Futures magazine. In 2004 we received the second place “Top Producer of the Year” award presented by Top Producer magazine and Farm Journal media. We maintain a competitive edge and plan for sustained profitable growth.

🌽 Harvest is rolling along! 🌽
Today we’re loading corn straight from the field. Thank you to Kyle Huston Trucking and C & J Trucking of Iowa LLC for keeping things moving from the field. It takes teamwork, long hours, and good equipment to bring the crop in — and we’re thankful for all three.

God Bless All My Farmers and Farming Friends. 🙏🏻💕

God Bless All My Farmers and Farming Friends. 🙏🏻💕

My husband always tells me that he didn’t learn the art of surrender in a church. He learned it in a field.

Farming is constantly putting yourself in a position to trust God. This profession requires the knowledge that God is in control, whether you are standing under blue skies or rainclouds.

Today, my husband finally stepped into the tractor to plant. Standing here in this field, I prayed for him. And I prayed for every other farmer, and for other every spouse who stands in the shadows, asking God for His great mercy.

This year, farmers have faced historic delays in planting due to unrelenting rains. That’s on top of an already shaky set of circumstances: low prices, rising costs, trade disputes. It’s no wonder farmers feel battered. It’s no wonder that the phones at the farm-crisis hotline won’t stop ringing.

Some people wonder why farmers keep going, in a profession with so much risk and uncertainty.

Farmers keep going because farming is more than a job, it’s a way of life.

Farmers keep going because, like my husband, they are working the same fields that their fathers, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers worked.

Farmers keep going because they feel the call and duty to take care of all that God has asked them to steward.

Farmers keep going because, to them, dirt is more than dirt. It’s potential. It’s life.

Out here on the farm, we live where we work, and we work where we live, and you can scarcely tell the difference, ... because we carry all of this life and love and hardship, like dirt under our fingernails and in our hearts.

So today, I pray for the farmers. For the skies above to be blue. For the ground below to be dry. For the equipment to work, and for the markets to flourish. And for every farmer with a hand upon a wheel to know that God truly is in control, and that He has called them to the field — a place where we grow more than crops, but where we also grow in faith.

This is God’s promise:

"The LORD will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The LORD your God will bless you in the land he is giving you" (Deuteronomy 28:8).
