If you slow down and look closely there is so much beauty in the every day!

If you have milk w**d in bloom run out and smell it today! Instead of stop and smell the roses let's stop and smell the milk w**d it's so beautiful!

Also good news - I'm optimistic the neem oil soil drenches are working! We have new growth on some of our stunted zinnias!!!!

Oh my heart needed the daisies today! Its been so nice to go out and forage!

We grow SO many varieties that it's tempting to forget the absolute beauty found in our back yard! Daisies have been and always will be one of my favorite flowers and they remind me of my grandma Barb ❤️

These are going in red, white, and blue themed arrangements for my cousin's open house!

P.s. - I know bush honeysuckle is invasive - we have them in abundance on our property but they will be properly disposed of

Yesterday was our anniversary - it ended with a beautiful walk at Sleepy Hollow. Most of our anniversary tho was consumed with aphid talks and developing a battle plan (but thankful to be in together).

This root aphid issue is much larger and having a much bigger impact than we anticipated. We are in the works of developing a solid plan and are awaiting a response from MSU (hopefully today) on further treatement.

Our current plan of attack is a soil drench with a mixture of molasses and neem oil. As well as adding beneficial nematodes to build up a "good guy" army in the soil We will apply neem on a 5-7 day basis to begin and hopefully soon see some healthy green growth on our zinnias.

We started over 300 more zinnias inside to give the seedlings a head start before moving them out next week. How romantic right? The truth is, it was

Uh oh - we have a new farm villain... Root Aphids.... Has anyone else found them this year?

We noticed a handful of plants not dying but definitely not thriving like neighboring plants..I gently pulled them up and found the roots covered in root aphids....

Yesterday would have been our sweet Allison's 11th birthday (so crazy to think we would almost have a teenager). We snuck away for a day trip to Hartwick Pines for some hiking then jumped over to one of our favorite campgrounds to enjoy the beach before driving home. So beautiful and refreshing.

We are back home on this beautiful day finishing the last few items on the checklist, planting more sunflowers, and having a campout in the backyard
