Many think they are miniature, but they are not bred down from larger cattle. They are a rare breed that is catching on quickly around the world for their easy temperment, lean meat and delicious milk. These cattle are great for small acreage...we call them a backyard cow on a rope.

We are very excited to announce Nature’s Own Dexter Cattle has selected and purchased a new White Dexter Bull named Rainbow Harley. We will call him “Dakota”!
He will become our herd sire! He is Homozygous White, Homozygous Polled(all his offspring will be white with colored tips and no horns), non PHA and a non -Chondroplasia! He brings some serious game changing qualities to our growing herd of Registered White Dexter Cattle! He brings great udder confirmation from both sides of his parents and we are excited to have this unique and greatly desired bull specimen into our breeding program. Meet “Taylor”… White Dexter heifer…her momma is new to this baby thing and decided she would rather eat than care for the little one…after a few attempts to reunite with her we pulled the calf and will bottle feed for at least 3 days then try to re-unite. If it doesn’t work then we truly will have a bottle baby! This is pretty rare for us only the second in many years of raising Dexters.

New heifer calf this afternoon out of ADCA Irish Dexter black Dam “Karly” and Registered White Dexter Sire “Moonshine”. She was a little muddy and wet as she was “hot off the press”! We will get less messy shots over the next few days. She will be registered with the White Dexter Registry and used as breeding stock. 10-14-23

Jennifer & I started a short stretch of fence building last evening. This is to the West of the house and barn on the Southside of our farm along the road. This is the first real physical work I have done since shoulder surgery in early May after hurting it in Feb of this year 2023. Dr says it will take 8-12 months to get back to normal… happy with the progress after just 4 months post surgery. I know it doesn’t look like much…but mentally and physically it was a big deal for me. Still much more to do…but slow and steady wins the race! Next will be to dig some wooden post holes & pray there is no rock, then stretching woven wire!
