Tin Goat Farm, LLC

Tin Goat Farm, LLC Naturally raised Kinder & Angora goats focusing on stocky high milk producing does and quality mohair. This same concept goes into our soaps and lotions.

We also offer riding instruction in classical dressage and working equitation. Tin Goat Farm started as a secluded park like playground for our rescued Australian Cattle Dogs. Since it's beginning, we have added 3 barns, loafing shed, pastures and an arena for the horses, chickens, and goats. We started with Nigerian Dwarf goats and added Kinder goats and Angora goats and Angora crosses. Although

we don't claim to be homesteaders, we do try to honor the land by recycling as much product as possible, using plant based products to manage weeds and pests and feed a species specific diet to promote health. We will not use synthetic preservatives, scents or colors in our goat milk products. We approach farm management with a holistic concept by balancing mind, body, and spirit. We tend to each animal's unique emotional needs with species appropriate diets and exercise appropriate for their age and fitness level. We honor the spirit of each animal and allow them to learn at their own pace and in ways that allow them to express who they are as individuals. We teach classical horsemanship which is based on the concept of honoring the spirit of the animal as a partner, not just a vessel to achieve a goal. The HDv12 is used as the guide for training along with concepts from the Austrian, Hungarian, French and Portuguese schools to meet the unique emotional and physical characteristics of each horse. Using our background in massage and bodywork supports our training concepts, allows us to address issues while in their infancy and allows us to facilitate those animals that are being rehabilitated. We only have one planet and it is each and every persons duty to preserve what we have for ourselves and future generations. Please join us on our journey.

Neon Rose, F1 Nigora. She had a date with Fennick- a repeat breeding because I absolutely love her daughter Nebula. I still have her two sons by Eli. She's a wide load and produces wide, stout kids with beautiful fine fleece. Her kids will be F1 75A/ 25N and will be looking for new zip codes after weaning.

I've been trying for a couple of years to.catch this girl in heat. I see her flagging, go.get a buck and nothing... No interest by either party. I had just finished feeding the horses and happened to see Roxanne in the doe barn (rare occurrence). I took advantage of Fennick still being in the doe barn and sure enough it was love at first sight.
Roxanne was a triplet. Her two sisters have been sold and produced beautiful kids so I am excited about this pairing.
Roxanne is a 50/50 F1 Nigora. Fennick is 100% Angora so her kids will be F1 75 A/ 25 N. Roxy is not the most trusting so her kids will most likely be bottle.babies and looking for new zip codes. Check back in August.

Evening Surprise, aka Suri, cracks me up. She always has to be standing on something. It's usually a mineral feeder but she broke 2 so she's upgraded to the corner feed trough.

It's time for the girl's daily walk onto the rental property. Today they'll get an hour of grazing time as they build up their tolerance to fresh browse.

There's been a lot of chatter on social media lately about using sodium hydroxide (lye) as a natural dewormer. Since most parasites have developed resistance to over the counter chemical dewormers, this idea of changing the pH of the rumen to combat parasites is intriguing to me. Shout out to Wildwood Farm for finding this study.
