What’s the deal with growing loofah? ( also spelled luffa) The plant itself produces flowers for our bees, the vegetable it produces can be eaten at the youngest stage ( like zucchini). When dried, we pick and soak to remove the hard outer covering. What lies beneath is a loofah sponge- wonderful for cleaning dishes, washing eggs, scrubbing bath fixtures, and for your own skin. ( yes, a different sponge for each of those tasks, please ☺️) We love to share the process with children as it is a perfect example of the Lord’s attention to detail on so many levels in His wonderful creation. Stop by tomorrow when we’re open from 9-4:00 and you can give the sponge process a try. We’ll have some for sale, too.
