Meet our newest gentle giant, Teddy!

He’s 16.1 hands, 1600 lbs, draft cross. He’s a giant cuddly teddy bear, but doesn’t understand how big he is because he would much prefer to be a lap puppy.

Trail rides are his favorite. Despite his size, he’s the lowest on the totem pole. He’s never even pinned his ears at another horse.

He’s settling in just fine and we love him already. ♥️

What does EAAT actually mean?

EAAT stands for Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies.

Simply put, it uses interaction with horses to support growth and development.

Sessions might include grooming, leading, games, groundwork, or riding while working on skills like confidence, communication, balance, coordination, emotional regulation, and independence.

At Freedom Reins, we give each student opportunities to build skills, gain confidence, and grow through experiences with our horses.

What if the parent has never been around horses either?

You don’t need horse experience to bring your child to the ranch. We’ll help you understand what to expect and help you become comfortable, too.

You can ask questions, take your time, and learn with your child.

Thank you to everyone who came out for our Fall Festival.

We loved seeing families enjoying the ranch, spending time together, and making a few new memories.

Here are a few moments from the day!

Psalm 118:24- today is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Today is our fall festival and we are excited! Family outings are getting so expensive. Our heart is to provide an incredible, fun, and affordable experience! This event truly has all the fall activities you could hope for only $5 per person (cheap add ons if you want to use the Photo Booth or get some merch).

**** don’t forget!!!!! Park at Life Foursquare church (on the office side towards the back corner), fill out a waiver, get your tickets, and a bus will shuttle you to the barn and back or you can enjoy a scenic walk along the dirt path to the barn. We do not have the parking space.

We can’t wait to spend this beautiful day with our community!

What makes a good therapy horse?

A good therapy horse is patient, reliable, and willing. They learn to be comfortable with different sounds, movements, people, and situations.

And just like each child who comes to the ranch, every horse is different. We ask a lot of them, so we also make sure they get plenty of care, rest, and time to just be themselves.
