This means the INCUBATORS ARE OFF!!!!! The brooders might be FFFUUUULLLL but the incubators are OFF!!!

CUSTOMER UPDATE!! Hatching day is so much fun!! Look at this little cutie!!! Thank you so much Copper Creek Poultry Co. for this adorable update!!

Hatching a batch of Silverudd shipped eggs today courtesy of Almost Something Like A Tiny Farm. These hot summer temps caused some delayed hatching but thankfully they started emerging at the end of day 21.

What is your LEAST favorite thing about chickens? 🐔 🐥

My is, I absolutely hate how vicious they are towards each other! Even as tiny chicks, one little drop of blood turns them into a swarm of piranhas, they happily stop as soon as they have slowly and painfully killed the injured bird.

Of course, my very favorite thing is the egg colors 🤷‍♀️ I like other things too, but that is my real love.

Something very odd happened yesterday. Look closely and something has changed. As I checked on these beauties for the 100th time yesterday, several hours after they were born, I thought, wait... that's not a pattern I remember. Why are there 4 boys? I know for a fact there were 4 girls and 3 boys. So I count them again: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7.......8?!?!?! Where in the heck did this extra boy come from?! So apparently there was an 8th piglet born hours and hours later. Currently, count 4 boys and 4 girls. I have been so worried about Hettie (the momma pig) after seeing this, but she is acting normal so far 🤷‍♀️ weird farm things do happen!

He is pretty darn adorable the little studling at the end with the black and white face! ☺️

Morning here on the tiny farm has brought new life! They are as fresh to the world as pigs can be! They were born early this morning and aren't they just beautiful! As we know, I am a sucker for spots and fun colors no matter the animal 🤣! 4 girls and 3 boys, all perfect! 👏🌞✨️
