DPS W**e Club Volume 11 is here! The w**es included in this release are:
Domaine Gayda’s En Passant Rouge is a fruit forward red with a bit of spice from the Languedoc in southern France. The blend changes with the vintage, but this vintage the w**e is built around Grenache and Mourvèdre, showing off the bright, juicy side of the region. Wild strawberry, raspberry, and redcurrant lead the way, with hints of spice.
En Passant Blanc is an expressive white from the Languedoc that combines Rolle, also known as Vermentino, with Viognier. The w**e opens with aromas of ripe apple, apricot, white flowers, and fresh almond before moving into a palate filled with green pear, white peach, and lime zest. This w**e has a bit more weight to it! There’s plenty of freshness here, but the w**e also has a round, generous texture that keeps it from feeling too lean.
Château Larrivaux is a classic Haut Médoc red from Bordeaux with the structure and character you’d expect from the appellation. This vintage, the blend includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Dark berry and red fruits dominate with hints of spice, violet, and subtle toast, while the palate brings fresh fruit, and firm tannins.
Luis Pato’s Baga Touriga Nacional is a lively red from Bairrada that combines the earthy character of Baga with the floral fruit driven side of Touriga Nacional. Aromas of sour cherry, blackberry, raspberry, and plum show with hints of violet, dried herbs, pepper, and a touch of earth. The palate is bright and energetic, with juicy fruit up front, refreshing acidity, and gently grippy tannins that add shape without weighing the w**e down.
