SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST

On September 26, 2017, officers with the Decatur Police Department's Patrol Division responded to a burglary at the Morningside Shop-Ezy at 1809 11th Street Southeast.

Devante Djon Quotez Johnson was developed as a primary suspect in the case.

During the investigation of the case, it was discovered Johnson was out on bond for an unrelated burglary.

Detective B. Prosser of Decatur Police Department's Property Crimes Unit spoke with Circuit Court Judge Jennifer Howell, in reference to issuing no bond on Johnson for a new burglary warrant.

On November 30, 2017, the Decatur Police Department's Organized Crime Unit made contact with Johnson during a traffic stop. Johnson was arrested on an unrelated misdemeanor charge.

Once Johnson's bond on the misdemeanor charge was satisfied, the warrant for burglary in the third degree, with no bond, was executed on Johnson.

Johnson was booked into the Morgan County Jail.
