Since the early 1990’s, Bodegas Nekeas has been a pioneering producer in the Valdizarbe Valley, one of Spain’s northernmost Atlantic influenced winemaking regions. Co**ha Vecino, longtime winemaker at Nekeas, was one of the first women in Spain to operate in a head winemaking role. recent report on Navarra lauded Nekeas’ Garnacha wines, which scored between 93-96pts, all between $11.99 and $19.99 US SRP. Cepa por Cepa 2025 was named Value Red Wine of the Year. Congratulations to for this well deserved recognition!

A massive enhorabuena to for ’s high scores of their flagship GELIDA and CLAROR cavas. Vins el Cep is a pioneering, estate, grower Cava producer. As one of less than a dozen Elaboradores Integrales (certified estate producers) they were the first Spanish sparkling wine producers to release a biodynamically grown wine. Vins el Cep is one of the most important companies driving a revolution of cava within the appellation!

Congratulations to and the whole Eguren family for the well deserved 100 point score from .suckling on Sierra Cantabria Mágico 2021! Mágico is produced from the centenary El Vardallo vineyard. This was one of the first vineyards replanted in the Sonsierra after the arrival of phylloxera to the area, and is a field blend of over a dozen varieties. The resulting wine is elegant and ethereal, and in a century defining vintage like 2021, produced a profound and outstanding wine.

Congratulations to the Eguren family of , .eguren of Cuentaviñas, and for this phenomenal recognition. Most exciting is the inclusion of three wines which represent the cutting edge and a new generation of viticulture. Francisco is a pioneering new wave producer of Ribera del Duero, Eduardo is arguably the most exciting up-and-coming vigneron in Rioja, and Unica Reserva from Sierra Cantabria is a unique expression of single vineyard Rioja from the family that pioneered single cru bottlings in the Sonsierra Riojana.
