Coming next from Linessa Farms:
- Breeding on a Calendar -
This may be one of the most detailed educational series we have put together yet (at least it feels that way 😀).
We are going to step back from the protocol sheets, the barn talk, and the “this is what worked for me” conversations and look at the actual reproductive system underneath it all.
Before we talk about CIDRs, Lutalyse, PG600, flushing, ram effect, melatonin, light exposure, and timed breeding, we need to understand what the animal is already designed to do.
Because these tools do not create fertility out of thin air.
They manipulate a system.
And if we do not understand that system, it becomes very easy to mistake a protocol for a guarantee.
This series will draw on current veterinary references, university extension resources, and peer-reviewed reproductive science to explain what these tools are actually doing in sheep and goats.
Not a recipe book.
A real explanation of the system behind the protocol.
Whether you use a couple of tools around the farm to synchronize breeding or more advanced tools like ET or LAI, this series will give you a strong understanding of the system behind the process.
Tentative series start date of Wednesday, 5/20
