Another Polk County Fair is in the books! 🎡

A great week for our Borderline crew! All seven kids worked incredibly hard leading up to and throughout the fair. They had a fantastic week exhibiting their steers and goats, earning some blues and reds, giving it their all in the showmanship ring, and making some great memories together.

We were truly blessed that each of our exhibitors had the opportunity to sell in the livestock auction this year. A huge heartfelt thank you to all of the buyers for supporting these kids and recognizing the time, effort, and heart they've poured into their projects. Your support is truly appreciated!

Also, a special thank you to the Polk County Quality Meats Program and all of the volunteers who dedicate so much time and effort to making the fair and livestock programs such a success!

We are so proud of each of these kids and grateful for everyone who makes the Borderline Livestock family so special. We're thankful to have them showing with us and can't wait to see what next year brings!

New this year!
Borderline Livestock added a few more first time crew members.

Suki has shown steers before, but decided to try her hand at meat goats this year.

Croix Severson showed a market steer for the first time and did a fantastic job! This wasn’t his first time showing with us, so be sure to check out his picture!

Last but not least our favorite first-time future crew member made her debute - Little Miss Colbie 🥰
While mommy worked the table at the beef show and daddy organized the crew, Auntie Katey and Colbie cheered from the stands and watched the action. She was also spotted at the goat show and hanging out in the barns making new friends! We can’t wait to see her showing someday!🥰

To all the amazing moms out there, Happy Mother's day!🌸🩷

And that's a wrap on the 2023 Polk County Fair!🎡

The best time of year with the best group of kids!
This was the girls first year showing beef and they did amazing! All the kids made auction, a BIG thank you to their buyers:
Cain's Processing (Kallie & Chase)
Four Hands Holsteins (Suki)
Cardinal Glass (Darby)
Amery Chevrolet (Brady)

*Chase's steer won his class and got Reserve ADG!

*Suki's steer got 2nd in his class and was the ADG Champion!

*Brady is a our graduating senior, we'll sure miss him next year! He was 2nd in his showmanship class, and received 2nd with his steer!

*Darby's steer got 3rd in his class and she was 2nd in showmanship!

*Kallie's steer got 3rd in his class and she won her showmanship class!

Kim and Chase showed their Boer goats too🐐
For the open and 4-H show, they both won Overall Breeding Stock Champions with their doelings, and Chase received two blue ribbons with his wether's!

We're all looking forward to next year already!😁

Welcome to Borderline Livestock👋

A little about us!
Colin has a herd of beef cattle, and for the past two weeks they were at a pasture about a mile away. Early this morning, we got them moved back home before the rain! Colin's parents, Kim and Craig, also have a herd of registered Boer goats!

This year, we have 5 awesome kids showing our goats and cattle at the Polk County Fair at the end of July! We'll be busy practicing and getting ready in the next couple weeks, but also are getting pretty excited!😁
