The egg inspector called yesterday. Time to face reality. The puppy has snacked on 26 hens; the raccoon family another 25. Fussy Hen is out of the egg business.

As I was cleaning and refilling the water buckets this morning, one of the Jacob rams butted me from behind. He had gotten a good running start so I was down and sobbing. My husband, Ben, had heard my initial shreak and called from the second floor window of the house, "Can you get up, Dear?" Well, after a while, I could. Annabelle, our year old pyr, thought it was all great fun.
