Fresh Cut Farms

Fresh Cut Farms We are a family operated market garden providing farm fresh produce along with lamb for your table.

Fresh Cut Farms is a diverse homestead located north of Spokane, Washington between Wandermere and Deer Park. We offer fresh fruits, vegetables and pasture raised livestock produced on our 48 acre family farm. Our goal is to raise these items in the most ethical, environmentally and economically sustainable manner possible. We operate our family farm using creative methods with the utmost regard f

or those who consume our products, plus strive to leave the land and community better than when we connected with them. We purchased our turn of the century homestead in July 2015 with the goal of bringing it back to life producing high quality produce and pastured livestock. In addition to providing these items to our community we have a long range plan of establishing a small Air B&B and event venue using the old farmhouse and other turn of the century structures as the draw for the endeavor. Since moving onto the properly we have annexed 4 acres of the homestead to fruit and vegetable production. To diversify our operations we have chosen to raise pastured livestock and designated 30 acres of the farm for this purpose raising sheep, goats, cattle and hopefully pigs and chickens in the future.

It was a BIG DAY FRIDAY!!!

It was time for some of the Da Boys to hit the road and head to the Washington State Sheep Producers Ram & Ewe Sale (sale starts @1:30 Saturday July 18) and time for the Northwest Junior Sheep Expo. At the show A Fresh Cut Rose (Rosie 2), one of our spring ewe lambs was going to be shown by a very skilled young shepherd.

The morning started off very smooth and the group travelled great. Everyone got settled into their new temporary digs at the Grant County Fairgrounds with Da Boys getting an accusations upgrade from their ghetto clubhouse, and Rosie had the pleasure of hanging out with the best dressed lamb in the barn!

The Expo is a top-notch show where young shepherds come from all over the state and this year was a good one. The show kicked off with Rosie in the All Other Wool (AOW) Breed class. She won her ewe lamb class and then took AOW Grand Champion Honors, meaning she would come back and compete for top honors later in the day. Her shepherd had other sheep at the show, and he pulled banner after banner. The shepherds knew they had put Rosie in the right hands. The question was though, could this great looking AOW ewe lamb compete against all of those slick shorn ewes? The judge for this show was from the east coast and tough… he knew what he liked!

YES, SHE COULD AND DID!!! ROSIE WON SUPREME GRAND CHAMPION!!!! This is the second time one of the shepherds Rose Line offspring have pulled top honors at a show. Last fall Iceman won the same honors. The shepherds thought that was a fluke, but with Rosie pulling that banner, WOW!!! Congrats to Kason for a job so nicely done!!!

When the shepherds started building their Valais flock they picked right in the ewes and advise they took to heart. The genetics they chose came from the Valais Blacknose Sheep of Washington State and actually from a couple of their first ewes, Queen Rosie (who’s antics got the shepherds hooked on the breed) and Elegant Lady. If you follow this farm, you know that the genetics are solid because of all the banners won, and from true sheep judges! Not some clown from a breeder’s guild that will disqualify a sheep for a spot in the wrong place and confirmation is an afterthought!!!

Why jump on genetics… DA BOYS!!! The three are looking for flocks of their own to help build someone’s Valais dream!

FULL STEAM AHEAD!!! Cried The Rarin White Admiral!!!

Even though this guy is named after a butterfly he's all business! He's no a fan of cookies so to keep this guy in good spirits he just needs some good rubs. Admiral is an F3 with strong Valais markings and endless curls that the ewes just need to run their hooves through. The one thing this guy doesn't have though... are those great looking BUT often troublesome horns. Ram horns can take some heavy maintenance let alone the jabs and hits a shepherd can take from them. The Admiral isn't a complete slick top but his tiny buttons are a piece of cake vs his daddy's rack!!

He has a twin sister. He's DNA verified through Flock 54, with RR for codon 171 and registered with AVBSR. Born 3/16/2026.

He's Lot 66 in the Washington State Sheep Producers Ram & Ewe Sale Saturday the 18th. Message for more details.

In the name of 250 years of freedom... Meet the American Spark (Sparky)

This las is going to launch someone's VBN dream just like a flint spark launched the revolution that created this great nation. He's an F4 with good markings, solid structure, and his curls will make all the ewes just melt at the mere site of him! His disposition is one any shepherd would love. Just make sure you have a hand full of cookies and this guy is your bud for life... well maybe 10 minutes until the cookies are gone!!!

His twin is Spartacus. He's DNA verified through Flock 54, with RR for codon 171 and registered with AVBSR. Born 2/24/2026.

He's Lot 64 in the Washington State Sheep Producers Ram & Ewe Sale Saturday the 18th. Message for more details.

WE ARE SPARTAN! Well that at least is what this lad's warrior cry sounds like!

Spartacus is an F4 ram lamb with all the proper war paint, sound warrior build and a curly fleece that any flock of ewes will fall madly for some attention with! This warrior knows his place though and is a dream to handle. He is a cookie monster though... so have his favorite treat and he'll be you're best bud.

His twin is American Spark. He's DNA verified through Flock 54, with QR for codon 171 and registered with AVBSR. Born 2/24/2026.

He's Lot 65 in the Washington State Sheep Producers Ram & Ewe Sale Saturday the 18th. Message for more details.

Meet DA BOYS IN THE HOOD!!!

So the shepherds thought 🤔it was time for these young Valais studs🐑 to find a place of their own before something happens that they don’t want to deal with in 5ish months🫣. Some folks think these Valais are very sllllloooooowwww to mature, but that’s a very bad assumption!!! With these little studs being a little over 4 months old and sharing the same pasture with some little hotties🔥 it was time to go! The shepherds are just hoping they moved them in time. Spartacus seemed to be getting a little frisky with Twinkles💓… meaning the shepherds will be doing a pregnancy test to avoid any surprises🙄.

Moving the crew was pretty easy. All the shepherds had to do was open the gate and let them load up! The ride was a long one, a whole 2 minutes and 100 yards to a fresh pasture. The new digs even came with a 1-star⭐ clubhouse… nothing but the best for these guys. They all settled right in and proclaimed this is their territory and don’t enter without cookies🍪!!!

Three of these little studs will be going to the Washington State Sheep Producers Ram & Ewe sale this Saturday. The other two fellas will be hitting the show this fall then on to new pastures!

The Rose line🌹... The antics of Pacific Rose (aka Rosie) are one of the things that got us hooked on the Valais. Every week her shepherd would post the crazy shenanigans she would pull... and there was always a new story driving a laugh😂! Her daughter Rose Bud is a mellow girl, but her daughters... hmmmm!!! Wild Rose🌹 lives up to her name, and Rose Bud's latest pair of girls are making names for themselves🫣!!!

One of Rosie's common tricks was getting out and into things she shouldn't be into. Wellll one of her granddaughters has picked up that little skill besides being the chief nibbler. The shepherds are going to have to keep an eye on this one!!!
