Shear madness is far from over for the Shepherds🙄🐑!!! Round two was Da Boys day at the spa...

All three did great... taking a wee bit longer than the girls due to the obstacles 😱the Shepherds had to endure🤭, but they got DONE🤗!!! One that really surprised the Shepherds when they stripped him down was Spartacus! The wool was hiding a LOT🫣!!! The boys lineup 🐑🐑🐑was American Muscle💪, Spartacus🦸‍♀️ and Black Tie Brilliance.

After relocating the beauty salon for day three, the Shepherds got busy on the rest of the flock. American Sweetheart💓 led the charge followed by her brother ASB, Zany Xenia, Panda 🐼 Blaze, Atomic💥 Blonde and Monarch👑. This wrapped up the lambs... Tomorrow is mama time😲!!!

Shear madness has descended upon the farm! 🐑💇‍♀️ Today, the Shepherds busted out the clippers and got to work, giving part of the crew a makeover for fall. And, let's be real, the weather is so perfect, it's like Mother Nature is trying to make them look good! 😎

The first group to be hit were the show girls! With Twinkles leading the pack, followed by Copper, Tulip, Rolling Thunder, Eval the Diva, Tequila Rose and White Lightning. Once in their bikini attire some boys were taking notice!!!

The Shepherds are trying something new this round - trimming the show flock for fiber enthusiasts, which means all the dirty wool gets the boot and the good stuff gets saved. Fingers crossed it works out, and thank goodness Twinkles was the guinea pig... er, sheep! 🙏

Time to RECOVER, the shepherds bellowed!

The fair is over and the flock is settling back into their farm routines. American Muscle is still working on his pose for next year and the ladies almost seemed like they wanted to jump back into the trailer to go for a ride... crazy girls!!! It was a fun time but the flock and shepherds are WIPED OUT!!! What's next🤔????

The flock and shepherds alike would like to thank everyone that took the time to come and visit! Da Boys are already missing all the attention they were getting!!!

HOLY SMOKES!!! What a crazy couple days for the Shepherds! Show day started off with morning preps for the flock with Tequila Rose first up. She was excited to get things rolling and couldn't wait to get into the ring! Super Nova followed and showed the rest of the bunch how things were done.

The really cool thing with this judge was when he asked the shepherds what their focus was with their first class of lambs... wool or conformation/structure??? CONFORMATION hands down!!!!!As the day rolled on the ribbons rolled in comments from the judge made the Shepherds glow... "solid flock," "great confirmation," and "hope to see these guys in other show" where just a few that the Shepherds caught!!! There wasn't outside competition for the crew, BUT on the final push American Muscle, The Amazing Copperfield, and Super Nova pulled SUPREME GRAND CHAMPION YOUNG FLOCK due to the consistency and how solid this flock is!!!! That means top honors in the barn for the flock against all the other breeds!!! For the crew American Muscle pulled top ram followed by Black Tie Brilliance. Top ewe is Eva the Diva with Rolling Thunder right behind her.

Now starts the planning for next year, and some of these girls and maybe a boy will too!!!

SOOOOOO Da Boys got a pep talk before loading up and heading to the fair... They were STOKED to board the bus, BUT when it was time to exit, let's just say it was a whole different story 🚌😂!

Now they're living their best lives, soaking up all the attention and begging for back scratches like the ultimate sheep divas 💁‍♀️🐑. Who knew they'd be the coolest cats... err, sheep in the barn? 😂

THEY DID IT!!! 🎉 The shepherds are still scratching their heads, but somehow they managed to wrangle 11 adorable Curly Cuties to The Interstate Fair last night!!! 🐑🎂

It's been a whirlwind getting this motley crew of ladies (and a few dudes) ready, but they're finally here! Friday's the big day - showtime is between 2 and 4, and let's be real, it's gonna be a real zoo 🐒! Come check out the crew and try to pick a favorite (good luck with that, they are all so CUTE)!

RUSSIAN ROULETTE... Yep that about sums up this past week for the shepherds!!!

Aug 1st the shepherds did there normal routine and headed off to the Liberty Lake Farmers Market to sell their veggies that pays the bills for the farm... yep they love the sheep, but they aren't cheap to care for! It was a great market for them, BUT as they packed up at 1 PM little did they know life changing events had already kicked off.

First up... the Old Trails fire! The shepherds have a friend in that area (the epicenter) and called to check... her flock was already loaded and she was looking for a way to bug out. Nothing for the shepherds to do for them so pressed home to unpack.

By the time they did, 2 more fires kicked off. Autumn Lane and Fairview started and with the winds howling all the shepherds could do was think of what happened in the California Palisades fire. They turned on the news to see if they could get a better idea of what was happening, but quickly became frustrated with the on seen updates of "look at the smoke over there"! What a crock of.... thanks news media for the attempt of creating hysteria vs sharing the calm facts folks needed to make decisions. The shepherds killed the news and jumped to tracking the fire on the web.

When the shepherds went to bed the Autumn Lane fire had jumped the river and was heading north... FAST putting off a horrific red glow in the evening ski!!! The evac zones hadn't reached them yet but they were closely watching and had positioned the truck and trailer just in case things changed over night.

Aug 2. By morning a level 1 evac zone had been declared 3/4 of a mile to the south of the shepherds farm. By the time the shepherds finished feeding the flock that level 1 jumped to 3 and with little thought the shepherds called in the cavalry because 40 plus sheep won't fit in one load with their trailer. Within 15 minutes The Dean Dream Team and Birky Ghering Ranch showed up in force and within no time the flock was loaded into 3 trailers and headed to safety. Da Boys went to the Birky Ghering Ranch and the rest of the flock sought refuge at The Ray Family Homestead. The shepherds couldn't be more thankful to these fellow farmers for all the support in getting their babies to safety and giving them places to be clear of the fires path. As the shepherds left with the flock in tow they looked back at the farm and took a couple pics not knowing if they would see it again as things kept changing.

Luckily the fire levels hadn't changed so the shepherds returned home... it was an eerie feeling walking through the barn after the adrenaline rush they just lived through. Once refocused they started doing fire preps around the farm... the shepherds had just finished packing the barn the day before with hay for the winter... 90 large bales...timing couldn't be worse!!!

Aug 3. Harvest for Fairwood Market.... Ohhh wait, it got cancelled at 9 due to still being in a level 3 evac! Shepherd audible... meet customers in old Rite Aid parking lot and coordinated that fun. The shepherds also got to watch quite an airshow of fire bombers circling the sky... they later learned that the airshow stopped a 2000 acre advance of the Autumn Lane fire. Empty gun chamber...

Aug 4. Met up with customers and shared stories!

Aug 5. Started prep for Liberty Lake Market. The shepherds started to almost feal safe, BUT the weather forecasters predicted more heavy winds to hit the area Friday/Saturday... not good, and another round in the chamber!!!

Aug 6. Missing the flock so the shepherds brought Da Boys home. They are halter trained and easy to load so felt safe on starting to bring the babies back! Oh and they did more market prep...

Aug 7. Finished market prep then picked up some more of the flock. Still keeping the numbers to just a trailer load just in case things changed due to the forecasted winds. That evening the first glimmer of hope... an evac level change in the first zone to the south of the farm. Still a level 2... BUT HOPE!

Aug 8. Market day again and the threat of wind was even talked about amongst vendors due to the danger of flying tents. It was another good market and luckily no winds hit the market, but what about the farm... Once the shepherds returned home the winds were nonexistent so set up to bring the rest of the flock home. Also that evening another evac block to the south changed making it 2 zones to the south in level 2.

Today the shepherds are looking back at one chaotic week, BUT are VERY THANKFUL for what they still have and all the support/outreach they received. It may of been a week of staring down a gun barrel waiting for a round to change things forever... but that never happened!!! The shepherds know some folks had no idea what was about to hit them and only hope they are safe and the shepherds thoughts and prayers go out to those impacted by this disaster!!!
