Morris Farms

Morris Farms We are a multi-generation Farm with focus on Notill and Cover Crops. We're also Mo. certified sustainable and responsable through the ASAP program.

Morris Farms was founded in 1985 when Jerry Morris married Janet Fry and they purchased 40 acres just south of Deerfield, Mo. In 1988, they had a son named Michael. The farm quickly grew in size with the obtaining of ground from Jerry's dad, Clyde. The farm grew to nearly 1,000 acres by the turn of the century. Several part-time farm employees have helped the farming of the ground along with Jerry

, Janet, & Michael. In 2006, the farm began growing Tofu beans for a seed company in Girard, Ks. with great results. Starting in 2009, the farm began using ground coming out of CRP for use as organic farm land. Morris Farms has the ability to cut and clear CRP fields using their own heavy equipment saving money and increasing productivity. The first few years of this have been slow but the result has been good. By 2015, the farm will have nearly 1,000 acres of former CRP land reclaimed for farm use with over 60% of that ground being used as "Organic". In 2009, Morris Farms began a partnership with Cherokee Farms of Missouri, LLC. which consists of several thousand acres of farmland. Morris Farms has the privilege of farming several hundred acres for CFOM and will grow to over 1,000 acres by 2015. Currently, the farm has expanded yet again to 1,600 acres and by 2015 the farm will have close to 1,800 acres to farm. Though the primary crops include Corn, Soybean, & Wheat; Tofu beans have been productive and cutting them from the line-up does not seem in the near future. Morris Farms continues to work with several grain elevators, dealers, and other producers to ensure the best level of fertilizer, crops, and maintained land is being handled. Janet has began having a egg business along with the farm and is up to almost 200 eggs per week and has 9 delivery stops in the Four-State-Area. On top of the chickens, she also is a stay-at-home wife and makes the best meals ever. In her "free time", you will most likely find her working in one of her several flower beds or herb beds working to produce some of the best herbs in the area. The Morris family continues with God's leadership knowing all is his and is used for his glory.
