The business has been a rock-solid member of the Defiance community for over 60 years. Originally a slaughter house operation, owned by Art Pohlman and then Francis Jacob, Jacob’s Meats would eventually become a retail and wholesale meat company, providing residents, independent restaurants, convenience stores and other organizations in Defiance and other surrounding communities with top quality f

resh meats at affordable prices. Paul Stork purchased the business in 1964 and his son Mike would later join him at the family business in 1979. Jacob’s Meats is a highly respected member of the Ohio Association of Meat Producers and has been voted Best of the Region again in 2013. The business has also been a proud member of the Defiance Chamber of Commerce for over 60 years. Jacob’s Meats features a full line of fresh-cut USDA Choice Beef, lean trim pork, poultry, seafood and frozen items, including a great selection of extra lean trim meats and Miller’s all-natural Amish poultry. Jacob’s Meats offers a wide variety of products outside of their top quality fresh meats. Jacob’s offers their very own line of canned meats (beef, chicken, pork and turkey) that is fully cooked and ready to eat. They also offer a variety of their own smoked goods, including smoked sausages, bacon, chops, beef summer sausage, and beef snack sticks. Jacob’s also features a line of premium beef jerky products (Original, Bloody Mary, Hillbilly, Redneck, Turkey, Teriyaki, Black Pepper and Flamethrower), made with strips of lean beef steak. For large family gatherings or graduation parties, Jacob’s offers shredded beef, BBQ beef and pulled pork, and shredded chicken for sandwiches. A full line of deli meats and cheeses, sliced the way you like, as well as a large selection of bulk Holmes County cheeses are also available. Jacob’s also offers a variety of specialty items that are perfect for holiday gatherings. Fresh whole turkeys, lobster, shrimp, spiral sliced honey-baked hams, and whole Prime Rib loins (seasoned or unseasoned, bone-in or bone out) are available. Party trays, perfect for gatherings, are also available in a variety of different sizes. A large selection of beef jerky seasoning and marinades, rubs, seasonings, barbeque and steak sauces, as well as grocery items, bulk candies, chocolates, cold beer and pop can also be found at Jacob’s Meats.
