We just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to see us at the Farmers Market! ❤️

It meant so much to see familiar faces, make new friends, and hear from several of you that you follow our page and came to the market specifically to buy some of our beef! 🥩❤️

Your support means more to our family and our farm than you know. We are so grateful for everyone who stopped by, said hello, and took a little piece of Live Oak Cattle Farms home with you.

🐄🌿 Farm Fact Friday 👅

Did you know a cow’s tongue is rough, strong and surprisingly long?

Watch closely… 👀🐄 you can see her tongue reaching out as she tries to grab the treat!

The girls are happy to help with the treats, while Ringo was perfectly content to hang back and enjoy his from the ground. 😂🐂

Sometimes you just have to know where the good stuff is! ❤️

Listen… Mama is calling and her calf answers! ❤️ 🐄

Every now and then, a mama cow and her calf end up on opposite sides of the fence. The gates are open, but apparently they still need to have a little conversation before figuring out how to get back together. 😂

Listen as Mama calls, then watch as I pan over to the calves - one answers her back! ❤️

Calves can recognize their own mama’s voice. Pretty amazing isn’t it? ❤️🐄

Some cows come out of the chute ready to RUN. 😂

Not Ringo.

He just casually walks away like he has somewhere important to be. 😂🐂

That big boy carries himself with such a commanding presence-you can’t help but stop and watch him go.

And of course, he had to turn around just a little… almost like he was checking to make sure I was still watching. ❤️

🐄 Farm Fact Friday! 🐦

Ever wonder why you see those white birds hanging around the cows?

They’re called cattle egrets, and they LOVE following the cows around! As the cows walk through the pasture, they stir up grasshoppers, crickets, flies and other little insects that the birds can easily catch.

So basically… the cows do the walking, and the birds get the dinner! 😂

A pretty good partnership if you ask me. 🐄🐦❤️

Think cows sleep standing up? 🤔

They can doze while standing, but when it’s time for deep, restful sleep, they lie down.

Looks like these girls are enjoying a well deserved nap. 💚🌿
