🤔Do I make a goodbye video montage before I leave Live Oak Brewing? Yes. Yes I do!

Been a hell of a ride and I’ve met some fantastic people along the way! Moving into a new chapter of life is bittersweet, but I’m excited for the future.

I want to thank all the rad people I’ve met along the way! Too many to name but if you’ve ever drank our beer, or been to the brewery, thank you!

💨 On this day, July 23rd, in 1635 Sir Nicholas Halse filed a patent for a smoke-free kiln and revolutionized the brewing industry. The unfortunate side effect: smoked beers nearly went extinct as the old ways of breweries roasting their own malts became more expensive.

But many of our favorite breweries kept the tradition alive

Thanks to the efforts of Matthias Trum the sixth-generation brewmaster and owner of Schlenkerla, Smokebeer Preservation Day is a day to celebrate smoke beers as a historical and beloved tradition in brewing!

We are also using today to highlight our Grodziskie, a Polish smoked wheat beer, has for the 2nd year in a row, took home the GOLD at the National Grodziskie Competition hosted by our friends at

A classic continental adjunct pilsner, FC Pils is brewed with corn grits and pilsner malt. A simple beer but really quite unbeatable!
