To those of you living with the “how to get heres”, I am grateful. The detours are aggravating…

I am now solely baking to order, pre-orders only. But each week that I receive something I can double or triple, I will let ya’ll know.

That said I am making double chocolate/maple frosted Birthday cupcakes for a client’s daughter. And I have several orders of my superbig blueberry muffins, both going out Saturday.

I have been playing around with new addins (to my sourdough loaves). One of my regulars is trying out rendition #2 of Bacon & Cheddar Soudough.

Sourdough yeast is very sensitive, esp to salt, so it’s tricky to add two salty ingredients to the dough and expect it to act like a regular loaf. The salt wreaks havok with the ferment and rise of the loaf.

She looks pretty but we won’t know until tomorrow…

I received a special Mother’s day order for Limoncello cake. Now I have three takers! Anyone else?

Limoncello is a liquor based with=duh! And the cake has several variations but in it’s simplest form, it is a medium dense cake that is separated by layers of mascarpone cream and often a lemon custard.

It tastes like Spring! Mine are simply decorated, tangy and creamy. Hurry, because if you want to order one, I start to gather the ingredients tomorrow!

Very little things turn me on more than soil, esp since we moved here to sandy FL 11 years ago. My hubby gifted me ‘sh*t’ for Mother’s Day and I was like, “Bring it”! So today I ran my fingers thru the best aged manure and he’s finding himself a truck to get it here. So excited!!!

The county officially notified us last week of the closure of the intersection to our road, beginning next week.

Having pre-prepped sourdough yeasts and pre-frozen dozens of doughs, I plan to open Saturday, May 2nd for a huge bake sale here at the farm. For one day only. I anticipate having 50+ loaves, all sizes, many types of bread, muffins, cakes, cookies. It bums me out but knowing I only have easy access to my stand for a week from now has me saying: bake time. Come & get it!

We’ll be open at 10 am Sat until we sell out.

I will post a menu of the items that haven’t been reserved Friday afternoon.
