We tried! The farmstand was open the past two weekends and it was not what we’d hoped. My new vendor brought over 18 loaves & crackers, I sold three this weekend, 6 last weekend.

I get it. The heat was brutal, I could even hear the eggs calling “please don’t leave us out here in the feels-like temps of 105” degrees. I was in the house making jams and I couldn’t take it.

Brooke’s breads are beautiful but she’s not returning to the stand. It only took a few hours for the bags they were in to get steamed up. What would one expect with fresh bread, right? One could barely see her craft.@

So until the temps moderate, HonorGrown farmstand will only be preparing baked goods to-order.

Farmstand is open…plenty of farm eggs ($6), fresh-baked sourdough, honey and even some just-picked jalapenos!!!! Almost out of cinnamon rolls…come and check out Brooke’s breads-they’re beautiful. Three sizes-large round ($12), regular loaf ($10) and minis ($5). She also brought crackers with everything seasoning topping. Yum!

I make a pile of sourdough (mostly to-order) every morn and the oven is off by 10 am as I begin the process of dough prep all over again. Today’s stash includes a bacon-cheddar, an Italian herb, a sesame-topped soft white sourdough sandwich loaf, and assorted smaller serves-2 (mini) loaves. Nothing makes me happier than the smell here right now!

Those who know chickens KNOW! Hens just don’t like the heat. I mean, who does? But I still have 2 doz of Farmer Fred’s just-laid eggs available tonite. Any eggs are appreciated frim our feathered ladies.

And in between all my breads, I am on a carrot cake-athon this weekend for a special birthday cake. Who’s in to try out my tried and Trudy-true rendition of carrot cupcakes or bread while I have the blend (and cream cheese frosting) going on?
