As you may have heard the rumors, Bud Rieder is retiring from his 50-year run this July. Back in January, the Rieder clan had the hard discussion that came to the conclusion that we would be shutting our doors for good to the meat market. We have chosen that July 3rd would be our last day of business, because July 4th is our second busiest holiday. This allows us to help you celebrate Easter, Mother’s Day, fishing opener, Father’s Day, wedding and grad party season, and over all grilling season! We plan to go full boar(bore) through the fourth and go out with a BANG! with the fireworks.
For our locker patrons, we will be sending out a personal letter and plan to shut our freezer down for good after the fourth celebrations.
The reason for shutting our doors is simply that our family is ready for the next chapter in life. With that, we are not selling any of our equipment or the building since we will continue to produce our own food. We also plan to utilize our shop for other uses in the future.
The next time you see Bud, congratulate him, on retirement of over 50 years of service cutting meat for our beloved community that extends far beyond just city borders. Then, wish the rest of us the best of luck on our upcoming travels, family ventures, and next endeavors.
A special thanks to our loyal customers for supporting us for 115 years!
