WE DID IT! Mac’s Market gained approval to serve and sell beer and wine! 🍻

Friends, this has been a bit of a journey. I’d like to share this process with you bc I HAVE AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE!!! But if you don’t feel like reading about the process - SWIPE to see!

It’s always been a goal to sell alcohol for our customers to enjoy among the sunflowers with live music and a sunset ✨it’s our vibe✨

When we started out we were essentially a roadside stand. Since then we’ve evolved into the space where we operate now! We love it and feel fortunate to have come this far!

When we moved to our barns, we went to the County to see if we were all hunky-dory and we learned a rezone and conditional use were needed. FINALLY we got it approved. They weren’t quite sure how to categorize us and they identified us as a Wedding Event Barn. Unfortunately they weren’t going to allow us to serve alcohol. But it was ok for Weddings to have an “Open Bar”, meaning bride and groom provide complimentary alcohol to guests. Also, our customers were able to BYOB to our Sunflower Happy Hours. We’ve been operating happily this way for the past two years.

THEN. Wisconsin said here’s a fun curveball for you! They passed a law that says Wedding Event Barns are now considered a “public place”. This went into effect January 2026.

What does this mean?? Well, alcohol is not allowed all willy-nilly - there are rules! Basically we were no longer allowed to have alcohol on our property. NONE.

We felt like not allowing any alcohol on the property would be a step backward for our business. We went to our township for help and we feel very fortunate because they have been so supportive in this process and THEY HAVE APPROVED OUR APPLICATION TO SELL AND SERVE BEER AND WINE!

Here is where it gets very important ‼️ we can no longer allow anyone to carry-in alcohol at Mac’s Market‼️ If you’d like to enjoy a beverage while visiting you can buy from us!

Another important note is that there are no admission fees to our farm! We are hoping that alcohol sales will help us cover costs and allow us to continue to share this place with you 🌻❤️

Bar Barn at Mac’s Market has a beautiful new roof! Thank you to the Maize Brothers for their incredible and quick work after last months storms ❤️

Best brother in law award goes to Keith because he & his parents built an amazing chicken coop and helped us welcome chickens back to the farm again! A big cluckin’ thank you to them!

A huge thank you to Chris and Danny Boss for their excellent excavating services in making some changes around Mac’s.

We kicked off event season at Mac’s with a special golden birthday.
