HELP US SAVE MORE BUNNY LIVES

Shelters are overcrowded and rabbits are getting dumped outside to fend for themselves. We have nearly 60 rabbits in our care, including some that are foster-to-adopt, some that are too young to get spayed/neutered yet, and some that have medical concerns.

Sadly, we are unable to take in more rabbits until we have more foster homes.

We can provide a lot of supplies to get you started. Bunny experience is a plus but not required. All of the medical expenses will be covered.

However, we are only accepting new applications from foster families on the Eastern Shore.

This includes Rock Hall, Chestertown, Galena, Elkton, Church Hill, Centreville, Stevensville, Ridgely, Easton, Cambridge, Salisbury, Berlin....

Yes

It’s the last day of February guys…

We made it.

We survived the mud.
The sideways rain.
The “is this rug too much or not enough” roulette.
The 4pm darkness.
The frozen taps.
The feral wind.

February is that month that feels like it lasts 17 years but is somehow only 28 days long.

We’ve had: • Fake spring. • Actual winter. • Surprise spring. • Emotional breakdown over hay bills. • Rug changes x 47. • Existential crisis in the feed room.

And now?

We are one day from meteorological spring (yes I will keep saying it).

March is coming in with: • Slightly longer evenings. • Delusion. • Hope. • Possibly another snowstorm just to keep us humble.

If you are tired, slightly feral, mud-stained and questioning your life choices…

Congratulations.

Horse Tired vs Normal Tired 🥱

🐴 Horse Tired vs Normal Tired 💤

Normal tired is staying up too late.
Horse tired is waking up tired because the job started yesterday and never really finished.

Normal tired is “I need a nap.”
Horse tired is “I need three hours, a hot shower, and someone else to think for me.”

Normal tired is a long day at work.
Horse tired is physical, mental, emotional. It’s hauling hay, watching the forecast like it’s a thriller series, worrying about weight, feet, fields, money, mud. It’s caring on loop.

But here’s the important bit.

Horse tired is not a badge of honour.
It’s not proof you love them more.
It’s not something to compete over.

Being exhausted isn’t romantic. It’s draining.

There’s a strange culture in horse spaces where we quietly compete about who is the most knackered. Who’s at the yard latest. Who’s the muddiest. Who’s sacrificed the most sleep.

We don’t need to do that.

You can love your horse and still rest.
You can skip the extra job.
You can decide that “good enough and safe” is enough for today.

Horse ownership is responsibility.
It shouldn’t be self-punishment.

So if you’re horse tired right now, not dramatic, just flat…

It’s okay to ease up where you can.
Care doesn’t have to cost your nervous system everything.
