Everyone loves a good tractor ride even the dogs! Angus jumped right up on the console for his role has “Chief Dog Supervisor” making sure dad runs the old 4450 and cultivator correctly! 😂

Drag lining some manure out of some hog barns today. We are trucking from the barn to the fields to the manure pump where it then gets transferred through a hose to an applicator. Drag lining is a great way to reduce compaction and speed up the process. With high fertilizer prices this manure will help build organic matter, provide micro biology, and great fertility to our soil!

The cows are getting moved to a thick heavy rye! They are going to be happy this week! They also have a high fiber straw, hay, protein, silage and mineral tmr mix in the feeder as well if they need some extra energy. These momma are calving right now so they will be ready for pasture soon!

Brooke’s Lessons provided Beale Farms with some fertilizer over the weekend. Dad cleaned Brooke’s lot out where she had 8 horses over winter and spread the manure on some acres that will be planted into corn soon! Manure is a great form of fertilizer full of macro and micro fertilizer and biologicals. We try to utilize all types of manure from beef, hogs and even a little bit of horses. All of the cows have been preg checked, vaccinated, and on corn stocks / rye for winter! We weaned calves and vaccinated all of them to keep them healthy! They are ready to get rocking and rolling on feed! Here in 9-10 months the calves will be all fed out and hoping to average 1300 pounds and into your freezers! Thanks to Bush Veterinary Services for help with working all the cows and calves and Bekah Ashby for the photos.
