I get told all the time from customers man you make it look easy raising show pigs! ( Know this is Our experience and how WE DO THINGS. In this industry each breeder has his or her own trials and tribulations!!!) 

What Us breeders don’t share on social media about this industry! ( You can breed gilts at a younger age we choose to wait for 2 years it’s just how we do it!!!)
1. We raise Our gilts for 2 years before breeding them. Cost Us a day 2 dollars for 2 years that’s 1460 just in feed to get her at breeding age.
2. We then spend 1000 to 1500 on the best semen in the Country to breed her hoping she takes fingers crossed.
3. She finally farrows takes 28 hours has 8 babies 4 so big takes hours to get them out of course all those huge babies come out dead.
4. Go inside to get a few hours of sleep before the next one farrows.
5. Come out from your 2 hour marathon of sleep to find she’s laid on 3 of the 4 living babies she did have.
6. Finally Getting asked if you have anything for 250 in September PRICELESS!!!!
7. Wouldn’t trade it for a 9 to 5 job for nothing!!!
8. Seeing that customer at the backdrop with a huge smile makes steps 1-7 possible!!!!
