Our Story
I first recall liking to bake when in Mexico, my mom would bake holiday cookies every Christmas. They were my absolute favorite and I still bake them every year knowing they are going to be a big success. But I think baking and cooking has always been a family tradition. Since my grandmother on my mother’s side used to entertain a lot of people, I asked her to teach me some tips. I was lucky enough to be her little student since she didn't even teach my mom or my aunt; (she was very secretive about her cooking). My mom also liked to cook and entertain so I helped her as well.
On my dad's side from Germany, my aunt was an amazing baker and had some great cake recipes which I still bake for every birthday. Although I do have to say, the cake recipe everybody loves is my meringue cake :). My grandchildren are always craving for the cake when they come to the adult birthday parties, as well as most of my guests.
Since I moved to the U.S. 22 years ago I started cooking and baking by myself since I did not have the help I had in Mexico. I also started to learn how to prepare a lot of the things that were available in almost every market in Mexico, but weren't available here. Also, a lot of the ingredients used in the Mexican cuisine are not available in most of the stores in the U.S. so I started to grow them in my own garden. I’ve grown a great passion for cooking and baking and now that I am almost retired from 40 years of my everyday work, I am starting this new venture. I invite you to join this venture with me!
