Do you ever have those days where you just experiment because… why not? 😂

That was me today. I decided to make a sourdough loaf where I replaced the water with marinara sauce. 🍅🍞

And let me tell you… the learning lesson was REAL. 😂 The sugar and tomatoes in the marinara definitely do NOT behave the same way as water at my normal baking temperatures. The outside got much darker than I intended, so next time I’ll be lowering the baking temperature and adjusting the process.

BUT… it smells AMAZING. 🤤 And from what I can see, the inside looks absolutely beautiful. The real test will be once it’s cool enough to cut!

So was it a fail? Absolutely. 😂
Was it a waste of an experiment? Absolutely not.

First attempt = learning. And honestly, that’s half the fun of making things from scratch. ❤️

Now we wait for it to cool… because I am dying to see what’s inside! 👀🍅🍞
