Start your day with a lather that’s better than your morning brew. Hitting the cure rack just in time for the holidays. Handcrafted fresh goats milk, rich espresso, nourishing cocoa butter, and a blend of olive, coconut, and castor oil for a creamy lather and lasting bubbles. Gently exfoliating and deeply moisturizing —
It’s your daily dose of coffee, no cup needed! ā˜•ļø

I’m never prepared for this part of the ranchito life
No one really talks about it.
Not in the starter guides. Not in the feed store. Not on the sunny Instagram reels.

The part where you pour your heart into something—
into someone—
and lose them anyway.

The goat you stayed up with all night.
The kid that followed your kids around the yard.
The kid you bottle fed every 2 hours around the clock.
The quiet moments when you whisper ā€œcome on, babyā€ and they still slip away.

I didn’t expect how heavy it would hit.
I didn’t realize how quickly a little life could become part of your every day.
How deeply you could grieve something so small.

And still—we do it again.
We mend the fence.
We clean the stall.
We feed and milk with a lump in our throat.

Because this is part of the life we chose.
A life full of sunrises and heartbreak.
Of muddy boots and miracles.
Of losing, and loving, and doing it all again.

No, it never gets easier.
You just learn to keep going.
To hold the hard alongside the beautiful.
To let your heart break open and still believe in new life.

That’s the farm life.
That’s the cost of raising anything worth loving.

The boys have been getting the extra milk in their bowls they won’t be happy when I start keeping it all for myself! 🤭

June is National Dairy month and in 1988 Congress passed to have this week be named National Dairy Goat Week.

Milking is a lot of work and commitment. It is not something we take lightly or can "let go" of and not worry with. Management of nutrition, general health, and udder health are so important. Goats do (and should!) produce more than their kids can drink therefore even with kids on them, they are on the milk stand twice a day getting stripped out to ensure their production stays up and to keep an eye on the goat as a whole.

We like to dam raise our kids at the ranchito but sometimes a mama just needs an extra hand šŸ«¶šŸ¼

On this ranchito we run registered Nigerian Dwarfs. Nigerian Dwarf goats are a miniature dairy breed that originated in West Africa. They are known for their calm, playful fun personalities and are popular as pets and family milk producers.

Kicking off National Dairy Goat Awareness week featuring the OG of our herd Canela.

Dairy goats are bred with a purpose to be productive animals making delicious milk!

While we primarily use our milk for our ranchito’s fresh raw goat milk soap, we also drink it and make cheese, and caramels! Ice cream and yogurt are on the to do list this year!

Goat milk is so versatile and can be used in so many products - yogurts, various cheeses, butter, skincare products, and so much more!

What is your favorite goat milk product???

Stay tuned this week for some goat and goat milk facts to help celebrate dairy goat awareness!
