This dog vomit slime mold is jumping the gun on a plant midway through flowering. It’s one of my favorite mystical garden entities for sure. In Finland, it was believed to be used by witches to spoil their neighbors' milk. It can grow on dead plant material as well as on living plants as you see here.

So far so good, time to get the boys outta here and get some support for the upcoming bloom. I’m really happy with the progress this early in the growing season. It’s been a symphony of synergy between the climate and the soil we built for our nursery mix this year based on our compost mix. It’s also the first year where the seedlings have seen no supplemental light or heat.
