Another little throw back and back story to the breed that REALLY got us into chickens lol.

We started hatching eggs a few years ago, back when we lived in a subdivision in Taylor Mill KY.

We were still new to chickens, so we had never seen polish before, and we have definitely never seen frizzles before!

We ran across hatching eggs on ebay for a breed called "Frizzle tolbunt polish". We saw the first few pictures of the parents and we were sold on this breed.

The price tag on these eggs were unfathomable to us at the time, but we didnt care. We wanted these birds, and at the time NOONE had them locally. We pulled the trigger, and a week later our $320 dozen of eggs showed up at our door step!

We had a great hatch rate. If i remember correctly, 9 or 10 of the dozen hatched for us! But after doing research on frizzles and deciding to breed these birds on our farm, we ordered another dozen from another farm somewhere across the country!

$600+ for 2 dozen hatching eggs is INSANE! Especially when we were so new to hatching our own chicks. But as the babies grew, we fell in love with the breed more and more!

After about a year of posting pictures as they grew, and offering chicks for sale, we eventually sold over 100 dozen eggs from our flocks locally and on ebay, along with several hundred chicks!

We even had people driving 3-4 hours to our house to pickup chicks!

This breed eventually became one of the staples of our farm! They are MUCH more common today, but if you, or someone you know within a couple hundred miles of our farm has this breed in their flock, there is a really good chance that their birds originated from our group! 😁

Throwback to the night that started it all. Our first summer, we set up at just 6 or 7 petting zoo events. Little did we know, just 2 years later we would have 120+ events on our schedule!

We are extremely blessed and will forever be grateful with how things progressed in such a short time! 🤗
