Ranch Gad We are a small farm located just outside of Denison, Tx. We sell flowers, fresh farm eggs and freeze dried goods. What is freeze drying?

Freeze drying is a process that removes all the water from foods well at extremely low temperatures. The result is food that maintains 97% of is nutrition and when packed properly can often be stored for up to 30 years! What can freeze dries goods be used for? Well, the possibilities are somewhat endless. First, freeze drying can makes some amazing snacks. From healthy freeze dried fruit to cheese

cake that starts with a crunch then melts in your mouth you are only really limited by your imagination. Secondly, since freeze dried food requires not refrigeration and often only weighs a fraction of its original weight it makes it ideal for those on the go. That means on your next camping trip you won't need to limit yourself to only eggs and hotdogs. delicious pasta or rice dishes only require hot water to prepare once freeze dried! Finally, with its long shelf life freeze dried food is ideal for emergency preparedness. Canned goods that often go bad in a year of two but freeze dried food can be shelf stable for decades. This means that the next time a storm rolls through you can skip the last minute line-ups at the grocery store and know you already have everything your family needs!

Which is your favourite?

Did you know there’s more than one kind of snapdragon? Most of us know the traditional snappy mouth snapdragon. However, there are also open faced snapdragons, and beautiful ruffly Chantilly snapdragons. We currently have all three varieties blooming on the farm!
