What a beautifull storm that we had come though on average about 1ft of snow, more in different places on the farm. Very blessed with the snow and animals being safe with plenty of water, hay and grain and the beauty it presented.

As we settle in to the new year, we've taken some time to focus on goal setting and achieving milestones. Although goals tend to be forward-thinking and progress based, this year one of our goals is a little different: slow down in our day to day activities and intentionally take time to enjoy the many blessings - big and small - that God bestows on us each day.

This morning, we saw the sun rise over the horse barn while the moon was still high in the sky above the horses and cows in the paddocks. A great reminder of the beauty that lies in transition and the peacefulness of coexistence.

Here at Harrington Farms we do our best to take the best care of the land as it is necessary to raise the best healthy cattle. Here is an aerator made by Ranchworx Aeration.

Will be our first season using it and look forward to the benefits of using it. It has multiple uses but we will be using it on our pastures. The tank gets filled with water for extra weight, so when the ground is dry when rolling over it shatters veins in the earth below the surface multiple feet to break apart compaction and allow water and roots to go deeper into the ground. It’s like a large yard aerator can also be used to open up the soil for seed.

This land was disc’d multiple times as it was transformed from pines and that was just a couple of years ago. (Look at one photo on ground and Its compaction)
We have red clay under which compacts very easy but could be helpfull in many soil types.

As you can see in the pictures it varys in depth depending on the ground but on the surface it breaks apart the dirt anywhere from 1/4 -1 1/2 on top. Also breaks apart cow manure and is giving back to the ground.
