Grains of Wisdom-
The history of exceptional wheat in Denton County goes way back to the late 1800's. In fact, from 1890 to 1920, Denton County ranked #1 or #2 in wheat production in Texas. It was also one of the leaders in U.S. wheat production. In 1900, over a million pounds of grain shipped from Krum. It was the largest inland grain market in the world.
Why? Well, the quality was incredible. It won numerous prizes in countless fairs. So many, that Krum's wheat was eventually banned from being entered into the Texas State Fair because it was consistently exceptional.
Today, we are still growing wheat in the same unique blackland soil that is rich in calcium and nutrients. And, this year's crop carries on with extraordinary character.
Cheers Y'all!
