I have the saddest news to share. Momo, our beloved community cat passed away on Tuesday night of a heart attack. It was sudden and appeared painless. I don’t think she suffered. She was inside a few hours before it happened and seemed completely normal. She then walked, fell over, and immediately had all the symptoms of a stroke. She passed away within 60 seconds. It was so fast. We’re all still in shock, but I’m glad we were able to be there with her at her passing and to witness what happened to have closure. She was a wild cat, and she could’ve died a million other ways. I’m grateful she got to live her best life up until the end. As most people in the neighborhood know, she was a badass. Not afraid of dogs, cars, or strangers. She did what she wanted and spread and received love along the way. We were all so lucky to know her. She was a celebrity visiting all the neighbors, and in a way she brought us all together with our communal “Momo stories” which I’m sure many of you have! We buried her outside and made a plaque. She gets to be in her favorite place… outside, in the center of our neighborhood. RIP Momo. We love you and miss you so much!!!
