Good advice.

Like so many of you, I am horrified and heartbroken by what is happening in Minnesota and in many cities around our country right now.

I believe deeply in justice, due process, fairness and human dignity. I believe in treating other people with kindness and that when we disagree our problems are best solved when we work together. These are not just personal values, they are deeply ingrained in my work.

I began my career as a criminal defense attorney for the Legal Aid Society, where I defended our legal rights and due process in courtrooms everyday. When I joined CNN as a Legal Analyst, my job was to explain our fundamental constitutional rights to global television audiences.

In my writing and on our podcast, we celebrate the work of world-renowned experts who share research, wisdom and science-backed advice to our global audience for one purpose - to help you see a bigger possibility for your life and give you the tools to feel and do better.

I believe you are more powerful than you know. That through your mindset and your actions, over time you can change anything for the better. Together, I believe we can make the world a better place.

You may feel afraid and helpless to effect positive change right now, and I have felt that way too.

Whenever I feel discouraged, I read the words of Professor Margaret Mead:

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”

All it takes is one person to do the right thing.

If what’s happening bothers you as much as it bothers me, that person is you and me.

As Dr. King said: “The time is always right to do what is right.”

I am not here to tell you what to do. Lots of resources online can give you ideas. I can only remind you, as a friend, that the more you watch but do or say nothing - the more helpless and hopeless you’ll feel.

Your voice matters.

Be still.

Find your center.

Listen to your heart and you’ll know the right thing to do.

We’re better than this. America’s better than this.

Buyers SPRUNG into action with our surge of new listings in April. But our unpredictable economy and higher-yet-stubborn rates gave our market a hot-and-cold experience. Some homes were off the market fast above the asking price, while others sat and required significant price reductions.

INVENTORY: Sellers listed early to increase their chances of success. Our amount of listings is significantly higher year-over-year. More homeowners are ready to let go of their low-interest-rate properties.

DEMAND: Buyers are very mindful about making offers. So, the greater selection of inventory caused some parts of the metro area to be less competitive, while other areas received multiple offers during their first weekend.
