JAYS2GO is on a summer break! Our next delivery is Wednesday, August 12.

Ten years ago, I sprang a business idea on my family: an online dinner delivery business featuring a new menu every week. I needed a website, a commissary kitchen, and customers. Our son (a teenager at the time) built the website. I found a spacious kitchen, and my first twenty-five customers were my wife's friends.

JAYS2GO didn't come out of nowhere. By 2016, I'd already spent thirty years in the restaurant business, opened ten eateries, and penned a dozen cookbooks. Today, JAYS2GO delivers hundreds of chef-prepared meals each week for busy families, people on the go, new parents, and appreciative seniors.

On a personal note, years ago while I recovered from surgery, friends and neighbors left meals on our doorstep. Those dinners became the highlight of my day. I promised myself that if I ever had the chance, I'd return that kindness to others.

Over the years, we've quietly delivered meals to customers recovering from surgery, illness, or simply going through a difficult time. It's still one of the most meaningful parts of what we do. And, I've kept my word.

"For the past ten years, I’ve created a new menu for JAYS2GO every week. Five hundred recipes reside upstairs in my “vault.” In my spare time, I food-scroll through social media, searching for the latest interpretation of a twirling noodle, a flambéed crustacean, or an off-the-menu pesto I’ve never heard of.

So what meal have I made every Sunday morning for my family for the past 20+ years?

You guessed it: pancakes. Fluffy, crispy at the edges, more rotund than round, slightly lopsided, and glistening when they come off the stove. Made from scratch, the same way, every time, for as long as I can remember...... "
