Storm Warning Brewing

Storm Warning Brewing We are an aspiring brewery specializing in small batch, unique beers. Check out our latest projects We hope you enjoy the beer as much as we enjoy making it!

Storm Warning Brewing was founded by Andy Hagemann and Phil Joyce in the Winter of 2011-2012 in Boulder, CO. Andy started his obsession with homebrewing in the Fall of 2010, and Phil started concocting not too long after. With a love of skiing and snowboarding, they were both always on the lookout for the next "storm warning" that would signal fresh snow for the mountains of Colorado. The combinat

ion of their passion for the outdoors and their love of making great beer lent itself perfectly to the creation of Storm Warning Brewing.

This Elk Cove Vineyards Pinot Noir barrel will be used to age the beer for my wedding. It was shipped out today to Colorado where I will be brewing the beer with my longtime friend, homebrewing buddy, and brewer at Powder Keg Brewing Company, Phil. The beer will be a sour/wild ale based on the original recipe of our first barrel-aged sour beer. I could not be more excited to make this beer and share it with friends and family! Some great pointers on barrel-aging beers from Andy at Avery Brewing. Even if you don't utilize barrels in your brewing or are simply on the "enjoying" side of the process, you might learn a thing or two!

Just finished up a brew day at Powder Keg Brewing Company making a collaboration blonde ale. I had a great time brewing one of my homebrew recipes on a large scale. Thanks to Phil for helping create this new iteration of our blonde recipe that advanced to the final round of the National Homebrew Competition. Look for it soon in the brewery!

Boulder/Denver friends... Y'all should go check out Powder Keg Brewing Company, who is having their soft opening tonight. My good friend and brewing buddy Phil is the brewmaster and has created an awesome brewery, in addition to crafting delicious beer! It will definitely be worth the drive. Cheers!
