This might be one of the coolest posts we’ve had the opportunity to make.
Earlier this summer, our friend and colleague Robert Lyles reached an incredible milestone: 20 years with Elite. He’s the third employee in our company’s history to reach the 20-year mark — and over those two decades, Robert has become an unmistakable part of who we are.
Robert has built lasting relationships with customers, earned the respect of teammates across the company and never hesitated to step in when someone needed a hand. And if you’ve worked with Robert for any amount of time, you’ve probably heard his signature rallying cry: “We’re a team!” More than just something he says, it’s how he’s always approached the job.
Of course, Robert has brought plenty of personality to Elite along the way. Terry still remembers the early days when Robert went through so many pairs of glasses that she finally bought him a pair of Croakies. And while customers may know him in his Elite uniform, those of us who have seen Robert at a company party know he cleans up real well — usually with a memorable pair of colorful socks to complete the look.
More than anything, Robert’s loyalty, work ethic, positive attitude and genuine care for the people around him have left a lasting mark on Elite and everyone who’s had the chance to work with him.
Congratulations on 20 years, Robert! We hope you and Janis enjoy every minute of your well-earned month-long sabbatical. Thank you for two decades of hard work, laughs, great relationships and always reminding us that we’re a team. 🍻
