For the last two years, we’ve been gushing about our collaboration projects with Jill & Steve Matthiasson: the Napa pioneers who are spearheading the low-intervention wine movement in California. Their commitment to organics, regenerative farming, and sustainable agriculture continues to inspire us on a daily basis as we think about the future of distillation here at Leopold Bros.

We’re excited to announce that Jill Matthiasson will finally be joining us at the distillery on Tuesday, August 25th for a special tasting event featuring our Leopold x Matthiasson Wermut and red wine vinegar, along with four different wine pairings from the Matthiasson portfolio. We’ll have passed apps to match each flight of Matthiasson, including the Linda Vista Chardonnay, Estate Ribolla Gialla, Estate Schioppettino, and Village Cabernet Sauvignon. We’ll also have a large spread of cheese, charcuterie, and other snacks to satiate your palate—including our famous potato chip station with vinegar spray bottles. If you’ve never tasted the Matthiasson wines (we think they’re life-changing), there’s no better opportunity to do so in Denver this calendar year.

It’s peach season in Colorado!! Today, Danny and Todd are checking the first 60,000 pounds of Colorado peaches for ripeness. They were pulled straight from the trees early this morning, before undertaking the 200 mile trek from Palisade to the distillery in Denver. After ripening, we will then cool the room to 55F to allow the now ripened Peaches to be an a low, cool temperature when they are separated from their stones, milled, and then fermented whole mash. The cool fermentation temperature yields the very best aromas in the finished Leopold Bros Peach Brandy and Peach Brandy Vinegar.

Last year we released our NA Aperitivo—our first ever non-alcoholic product—to a small, but very passionate fanbase at the distillery here in Denver. We knew the market was looking for high quality alcohol-free liqueurs, but the demand was scattered and we weren’t sure how our distributors would react. This past May, we decided to just put it out there and let the world react. We just looked at our sales numbers for California and it was our top-selling product in the state for the month. So does that mean you like it? Let us know what you think!

Having been on the road for the last few weeks, there's been one common theme at every bar and restaurant we visit: people are LOVING the Sour Lime Cordial. Whether it's an improved Gimlet, stirred Daiquiri, a float for your classic G&T, or adding zip to a Margarita, the Sour Lime Cordial is proving to be the official 2026 ketchup of the bar. So versatile, so many options. Yet, perhaps the simplest pleasure and easiest way to enjoy the Sour Lime Cordial is with soda water. A simple spritz for the summer, and you're on your way to a pretty good afternoon!
