Lisa Rogers here. You may have noticed this page has a new name β we've transitioned Feed Denver to COMMUNITY RESILIENCE GATHERINGS - NORTHWEST DENVER. Here's why.
Some of you have been here since the Feed Denver days β when we were building urban farms, fighting for food sovereignty, and arguing that access to good food was a civic right, not a privilege. That work was never just about food. It was about power. Who has it, who doesn't, and what communities can do when they decide to build it themselves.
After Feed Denver, I spent years working across the Midwest β in environmental justice, in community organizing, in the ongoing work of helping people understand that the crises landing on their doorsteps are connected, and that the response has to be too. Different geography, same fight. The same question underneath everything: what does it take for communities to survive what's coming, and to come out stronger on the other side?
I'm back in Denver now. And I'm not the only one asking that question.
The NORTHWEST DENVER COMMUNITY RESILIENCE GATHERINGS started as an invitation β to neighbors to come face to face, to talk about what's happening in our neighborhoods, who represents us, what we need, and what we can build together. This page is the new home for that work.
If you followed Feed Denver because you believed communities should have power over their own lives β you're in the right place. The names have changed. The work hasn't.
**** And you don't have to be from Northwest Denver to join us. Everyone is welcome, no matter what neighborhood you're in. ****
